Christmas is just around the corner and to get you in the festive spirit, attractions around the area are holding seasonal events.
Newstead Abbey will once again take on a magical Christmas appearance as its historical rooms, including the Great Hall and library, are decked out in a traditional style.
The Abbey is open this Saturday and Sunday and the 7th and 8th December, from noon until 5pm. The park and gardens are open from 9am.
Admission to the park is £6 per car and it costs £5 for adults and £1 for children to enter the Abbey.
Seasonal refreshments are available at the café in the grounds and special Christmas afternoon tea is available if booked.

Meanwhile the atmospherically enchanting Bolsover Castle is inviting families to wrap up warm and join in a special festive family fun trail on winter weekends.
Children will be given the opportunity to explore the castle grounds as they hunt for clues and find missing words. Families who are successful will be rewarded with a special Christmas treat.
Lucy Hutchings, events manager for English Heritage, said: “This fun activity is perfect for families looking for something to do over the Christmas period. Bolsover Castle is a wonderful place for children to explore and enjoy the fresh winter air, whilst exercising their brains in this quiz-like trail.”
The Festive Family Fun Trails start this weekend and run every Saturday and Sunday in the run up to Christmas, from 11am until 4pm.
