Nottinghamshire Blood Bikes will be holding a curry fundraiser to give the vital service a much needed boost.

The out-of-hours courier service delivers blood, breast milk, medical samples, notes and equipment between hospitals free of charge.

This means that the money which would have been spent on transport costs can now go back into the NHS and help with patient care.

The charity is run by volunteers and relies on donations to help raise more funds.

On Thursday, October 29 the blood bikers will be teaming up with Huthwaite Tandoori on Market St, Huthwaite, Sutton-in-Ashfield for the fourth time to provide a three-course meal and entertainment by close-up magician Duncan William with funds going to help the charity.

Tickets are £20 and more information is available by emailing enquiries@nottinghamshirebloodbikes.org
