KEN Sharp, on behalf of Stags Fans United (SFU), presents a cheque for £100 to the neo natal unit at Kings Mill Hospital on Wednesday.
The money was collected at a Race Night at the Kings Arms in Mansfield in July, when the SFU also boosted its own funds.

Receiving the cheque is ward leader Lynette Sills, second left, watched by staff nurse Kate Draper, staff nurse Sarah Harrop and deputy ward leader Janet Waggstaff

SFU, an organisation backed by four Stags fans groups - Team Mansfield (TM), Ollerton Stags Supporters Club (OSSC), Stags Supporters Association (SSA) and Stags Fans For Change (SFFC) - is raising money to invest in Mansfield Town FC through the purchase of shares at some point in the future.

Already the group, set up earlier this summer, has topped £40,000 through fundraising and membership.

Fans can join the SFU for £100 and, in return, hope to get a say in the running of the club when their future investment is rewarded with a seat on the board of directors. To join the SFU, which now includes a direct debit option, click here

The next major fundraising activity is a Sportsman's Dinner on Wednesday 24th September at The John Fretwell Sporting Complex, Nettleworth.

Football legend Duncan McKenzie will be the guest speaker supported by a comedian, an auction of sporting memorabilia will take place and there will be a raffle and several competitions during the evening.

Individuals wanting tickets or organisations looking for a corporate package should contact Richard on 07814737946 or e mail sfudinner@hotmail.com for further details
