Nigel Bacon murder accused appear in court

FOUR people appeared at Nottingham Crown Court on Friday morning in connection with the murder of Mansfield Woodhouse businessman and part-time gamekeeper Nigel Bacon
His widow Susan Bacon (54), of Keeper's Cottage, as well as his son Michael Bacon (20), of Wordsworth Avenue, Mansfield Woodhouse, and Peter Jacques (28), of Charlesworth Street, Bolsover, and Shaun Woodcock (41), of Mapletoft Avenue, Mansfield Woodhouse, are all accused of murder.

All were remanded in custody to await their trial, which is due to begin on 17th November and is expected to last five weeks.

Michael Bacon and 18-year-old Natasha Bacon, also of Wordsworth Avenue, Mansfield Woodhouse, each face a charge of attempting to pervert the course of justice between 4th December and 1st February.

Natasha Bacon was released on bail.

Nigel Bacon (50) –– also known as Neil –– owned Mansfield Woodhouse security firm Keep It Securities.

He was found stabbed at his home Keeper's Cottage, opposite the main entrance to Clumber Park on 26th November and died in hospital later that evening.

A post-mortem revealed he died from stab wounds to the chest.

The five will next appear in court on 4th September.
