A NEW multi-million pound scheme to revamp Sherwood Forest Visitor Centre has been unveiled.
Nottinghamshire County Council has redesigned its plans for the centre - which will cost £5.2m and be open to the public in 2012.

The previous Labour administration had wanted to spend just under £10m on a project - but the new Tory council has revised the plans, which no longer include a footbridge and conference and function facilities.

Council bosses say the new plans are more in keeping with the forest environment.

Said Coun John Cottee, cabinet member for culture and community: "We have cut back the costs, but not the quality.

"Visitors will be able to enjoy a modern visitor centre with great place to eat, buy gifts and learn all about Robin Hood and his famous home."

The only thing is have they factored into the Centre planning the incinerator that they (Notts CC) want to build just under 6 miles (upwind) from the proposed centre?

Building the Rainworth wind farm lets N.C.C. emissions trade to build the incinerator.Very sad!!!
