Mansfield bridge closed as police probe serious incident
A MAN is in intensive care after a serious assault in Mansfield at around 11.45pm on Monday night.
The victim was found badly injured in an alleyway that runs parallel to Pelham Street, near the footbridge know locally as 'Banana Bridge'.
Police and paramedics attended and the victim was taken by ambulance to King's Mill Hospital.
A cordon is in place and the bridge, over the ring road, Rock Valley, Pelham Street and Recreation Street are closed while police and forensic officers examine the scene.
