PLEASLEY Hill residents are being invited to have their say on plans to breathe new life into the area with two events next week.
Mansfield District Council and regeneration organisation Meden Valley Making Places (MVMP) are holding the consultations so residents can find out more about proposals for new homes and employment sites.

MVMP was appointed this summer by the coun
cil to bring forward the development and consult with local people about the plans - which could see 180 run-down terraced houses on Chesterfield Road North demolished.

Gary Kirk, chief executive of the organisation, said: "MVMP is committed to working collaboratively with communities and especially to obtaining the views and opinions of local people through the consultation process.

"I am sure that there will be a great turnout of local people looking to have a say in how Pleasley Hill can be transformed — and we will be there to listen."

At the consultation events, residents will have the chance to see two options of what could be built on the current housing land and on a large area of farmland off the MARR road.

Coun Heather Henshaw, portfolio holder for housing at Mansfield District Council, said: "I am pleased that the regeneration of Pleasley Hill is now in a position to progress.

"We sympathise most sincerely with the residents of the area and are well aware of the circumstances they have endured for too long. It is our wish to work with partners to ensure the delivery of the scheme."

The events will take place at the Pleasley Landmark Centre on Chesterfield Road North on 23rd September from 3-7pm and 24th September from 9am-noon.

Be nice if NCC could finish the road first

I call this (the unfinished bit, that is) MARR. They call it Pleasley By-pass Extension

Simply, the current extent of (incomplete) MARR beginning/ending at a substantial junction in a high-density housing area is just sucking traffic through the village in either direction

NCC highways and Environment are a disgrace - no housing redevelopment should be done until the road's complete

Neither is likely to happen, though

As I reported in Chad forums some months ago, I enquired about the road 5 years since

I'll send the email from then to the new Conservative Cabinet Member for his information
