A FIRE which broke out in the kitchen of Mansfield's Boothy's Club early on Friday evening has left the venue unable to serve food until next week.
Two fire crews were called to the West Hill Drive club at 7.35pm to extinguish the blaze, which started in the kitchen after a faulty thermostat caused a deep fat fryer to set alight.

Said club worker Mick Smith: "It's still business as usual, it's mainly smoke damage but we should be back to normal next Monday once we've had time to clean it up."

No one was injured in the incident.

The owners and all the staff here at Boothys would just like to say a big thank you to all the Fire Fighters who helped put out our kitchen fire on Friday night. All concerned were brilliant. It is all to easy to forget what a great job they do day in day out. Once again many thanks.
