Kevin Topham, a British Legion member from Edingley, has collected more than £964 for the Legion’s 90th Anniversary Poppy Appeal.
Kevin, who collects on behalf of the Farnsfield and District Branch, was able to arrange for collections to take place in a wide range of local places, as well as completing door to door collections in Edingley and Kirklington.
Last year Farnsfield Branch set itself an ambitious target of collecting £1 for every person living in the branch area - and passed their £5,000 target in September.
During the main appeal in late October and early November a poppy decorated horse drawn carriage attracted a lot of public interest and donations.
Poppy Appeal organiser Bob Burrows said: “Kevin’s efforts are absolutely amazing and have gone a long way towards helping us make such a significant contribution to the Appeal. On behalf of the branch I would like to say a very big thank you to Kevin and to everyone who has helped.
The branch has raised over £4,200 so far and is continuing to collect for the appeal.
