TWO tone Ska giants The Beat and one of Mansfield's biggest ever musical exports B-Movie are the pick of an impressive run of gigs scheduled for Mansfield's Town Mill this autumn and winter.
The Beat, who had a number of hits including Mirror in the Bathroom, Too Nice To Talk To, Can't Get Used To Losing You and Hands off She's Mine are due to play the venue on 25th September and advance tickets are highly recommended.

Ex-Reef singer Gary Stringer brings his new project Them Is Me to Mansfield on the previous Friday, 18th September. The band also has Reef's former bassist Jack Bessant amongst its ranks.

Reef's best known single Place your Hands is typical of Them is Me's new material.

Promoting their new album, Viking Skull visit the venue on 26th September. They were formed in 2002 by ex-members of Raging Speedhorn and often feature Jess Marjera of CKY and brother of Bam Marjera of MTV fame on drums.

They're influenced by Black Sabbath and AC/DC and have played some major gigs in their own right, as well as touring with Twisted Sister and Alice Cooper.

Early October sees post rock phenomenon Sigue Sigue Sputnik bring their Electronik show to the Mill. The band's biggest hit Love Missile F1-11 is sure to be on the set list of Martin Degville's electronica pioneers. The gig is scheduled for the second of October.

The following week sees Hollywood-based rockers Tattooed Millionaires deliver a set of sleazy rock 'n' roll with supports from brilliant locals New Generation Superstars and London's Imperial Vipers. The show has 8pm doors and is on 7th October.

German street punks Tower Blocks play the venue on 23d October as part of their UK tour, locals Septic Psychos provide the support.

One of Mansfield's biggest ever musical exports B-Movie, who rose to fame with their futurist hit Nowhere Girl, are November's first big band.

They played with the likes of The Human League back in the 80s
but, are also stars in their own right with their single going top 10
across mainland Europe. On the back of a superb Mill debut in 2008, the band play two consecutive nights on the 6th and 7th November.

Highly rated Bluesman Aynsley Lister brings his band to the venue on the 20th of November. Picking up a guitar at the age of eight Lister has been likened to a young Eric Clapton.

He's shared stages with all the biggest names in the genre, including Buddy Guy, John Mayall, and Robert Cray, as well as big name pop artists such as Bryan Adams and Fun Lovin' Criminals.

Topping off the year at the Town Mill's regular punk night Headwrecker are Oi legends Last Resort. One of the biggest bands in the genre, Last Resort's lyrics deal with serious subject matter such as debt, war widows and politicians, as well as other important issues like going out on the razzle with your mates and girls!

Tickets for all the gigs can be bought from either The Town Mill at the bar or by calling 01623 632451. Alternatively they can be purchased from www.ticketweb.co.uk or on 08444 771000.

All the latest bookings can be found at either of the venues two websites www.townmill.com or www.myspace.com/townmill.
