Beetroot Kings launch first single

THE Beetroot Kings are set to release their first UK double A side single later this month and are hosting a special launch party in the town to celebrate.
The folk-rock band, whose members hail from Mansfield and Ollerton, are releasing 'Who's The Fool' and 'Story of Shriggy' together and available by download via iTunes from Monday, 16th.

To promote the aingle coming out the band will be hosting a Single Release Party at Mansfield's Intake Club this Saturday, 14th.

The party is also the first date of the band's long-awaited UK tour to which new dates are quickly being added up and down the country.

The band is made up of Gary Armstrong (lead vocals, guitars, piano), Phil Bloomfield (bass guitar, vocals), Dan Booth (fiddle, guitar, mandolin), Graham Scott (guitars, vocals) and Benny Haynes (drums and percussion).

They have all received some extremely positive reviews of late, including for their performance at recent grass roots festival The Bearded Theory Festival, as well as having appearances on BBC Radio Nottingham.

Radio DJ Dean Jackson has heralded The Beetroot Kings as the best talent to come out of Nottinghamshire in recent years and the band have also been averaging between 200-2,000 plays daily on their myspace site.

The Intake Club have managed to attract a big name to support the Beetroot Kings on the night, but organisers are not saying who to give loyal fans a chance to get tickets first.

The eargerly-awaited show starts at 7pm, tickets are available at £7 advance from the Kirkland Avenue venue on Mansfield 450022 or on the door.
