HOT hatch fans will be delighted to hear Renault has announced an upgraded version of the Megane Renaultsport for 2012.
The Megane now wears the 265 tag to denote an increase in power to 265 horsepower alongside an increase in torque of 15lb.ft.
This cuts the 0-62mph time to six seconds flat and raises the top speed to an impressive 158mph.
The latest 265 Megane also offers the Renaultsport Dynamic Management system which allows the driver to switch into a lower-power mode (250hp) to increase fuel economy by up to 5%.
Renault is also continuing the two-model range, with the range-topping standard car or the Cup version with stiffened suspension and upgraded brakes.
For 2012 there are some new options, including a Red Design Pack which adds coloured detailing to the outside of the car, a rear parking camera and also the Visio system first seen on the Scenic which warns the driver if they cross a white line without indicating.
The stripped-back Cup edition costs £24,825, while the more luxurious 265 model is £26,025, with both models appearing in showrooms in early April.
