New drop-in sessions have been set set up for people in Ashfield facing problems with spiralling debts.
Ashfield Citizens’ Advice Bureau (CAB) on Market Street, Sutton has organised the sessions from 10 am to 12 midday every Thursday and Friday. “No matter how much you owe, or who you money to, we can help,” saaid Natasha Mellors, co-ordinator for the Ashfield Advice Project Partnership.
Figures released last summer showed that debt took up 37% of problems dealt with by Ashfield CAB, with hundreds desperate for advice. Many had unsecured loans, while others suffered as prices outstripped wages, or benefits became harder to claim.
