Win tickets to Alfie Boe at Clumber Park

Clumber Park will be the ideal setting for the fabulous voice of Alfie Boe as he headlines the Classical Music Night of the Clumber Park Music Festival on 19th August - and two of lucky Chad readers could be there thanks to an easy-to-enter competition in this week’s Chad.

Alfie Boe will be performing with his orchestra at a relaxed outdoor event in the grounds of the park.

Organisers of the festival are urging people to bring along their own refreshments and chairs and camping tables to create a relaxed atmosphere and be entertained by Alfie’s beautiful voice. There will also be a special guest appearance form Laura Wright.

It has just been announced that Alfie Boe will perform at Buckingham Palace for the Queen’s Diamond Jubilee celebrations, making his performance in Clumber Park a ‘must see’ show for all Alfie Boe and classic music fans. In the last 12 months he has had two Top 10 platinum albums with ‘Bring Him Home’ and ‘Alfie’ and he completely sold out his recent UK tour.

Alfie is the youngest of nine children and was born in Fleetwood near Blackpool.

At 17 he was working in the TVR factory in Bispham and would entertain his colleagues by singing opera arias whilst they worked. A customer that had connections in the music industry overheard Alfie and was so impressed that he suggested that Alfie should go to London, where the D’Oyly Carte Opera Company were auditioning for a tour.

Alfie went along and got the job, he hasn’t looked back since and has obtained extensive musical and operatic training along the way.

Alfie studied at The Royal College of Music and then The Royal Opera House, before taking the lead in numerous Operas for English National Opera. He also performed for Welsh National, Scottish National and The Royal Opera House, Covent Garden.

Ticket and information are available on the website www.ukeventsandproduction.com or by calling 01909 512534.
