Coun Kevin Parkinson, Derbyshire County Council Cabinet Member for Regeneration, said: “I’d urge businesses to nominate themselves for the Derbyshire Food and Drink Awards which go from strength-to-strength.
“We have an amazing array of eateries in Derbyshire which make the best of some fine local produce.
“I would encourage owners of restaurants, pubs and coffee houses to make sure they get their entries in before the closing date.”
Venues are judged on a number of criteria including the quality of food and drink, customer service, and use of county produce with acknowledgement of it on menus.
Gary Brockway, director and hospitality specialist at awards sponsors HSKS Greenhalgh, said: “The 2010 and 2011 awards were such a huge success that we are only too pleased to continue our sponsorship in 2012.
“We know from working with our clients in the industry how difficult things are at the moment and we welcome the opportunity for the achievements of those Derbyshire businesses who have continued to offer high quality food and drink to be publicly recognised.”
