NEWARK and Sherwood District Council has decided, for financial reasons, to close the toilets in Rainworth and Blidworth but then it has decided that most of those in Newark should be kept.
Similarly NSDC are closing the swimming bath in Rainworth on the grounds of affordability, but are then, I understand, considering building a new facility in Newark itself.

It would appear that in Newark and Sherwood it is one law for Newark — who get evereything — and another for Sherwood.

We all pay our Council Tax to NSDC- so why do NSDC only cater for the Newark end?

The Rainworth windfarm would never have been accepted if it were based near Newark - but they passed it for Rainworth and that affected residents who were not even their electorate.

Would we not be better off if we declared independence?

JOHN BRADBURY,
St Peter's Drive, Rainworth.
