IN response to the article last week concerning the dropping of litter by 30-40 pupils over a one-month period and the comments made by Richard Townsley, senior neighbourhood warden branding the Queen Elizabeth's School the 'dirtiest school in the town'!
Whilst not wishing to condone the dropping of litter - this issue does need to be dealt with and everyone needs to do their bit to help with this - I and many others feel to brand a whole school as being the dirtiest seems over the top!

There are approximately 1,200 pupils attending QE and the percentage dropping litter, according to Mr Townsley, equates to approx 2.5% of the pupils. The pupils themselves have said that it is not the school to blame - the pupils are accountable for their actions.

Hopefully the QE school will take up his offer for one of his wardens to hold an assembly at the school. I'm not certain what welcome the pupils will give to them after having branded the whole school as being the 'dirtiest school in Mansfield!'
