ONCE again we read in papers and see on TV about the Land Army girls and Bevin Boys and the work they did during the Second World War. I quite agree.
But what about the women and girls on munitions in factories? I was 19 years old and along with my friend Edith we had to go away from home in digs for three years working in an iron foundry. We had no choice, doing a man's job. We had to go.
