YESTERDAY morning I was woken by the milkman who informed me that my car had been broken into. (The o/s rear window had been smashed)
I contacted the police who informed me that because I reside in B division they did not have a car clinic and going on the information given it would not be feasible to send out anyone. I was also given the advice that I should consult my neighbours
to see if they had either seen or heard anything and to pass any information back to the officer.
My points being
1) The briefcase that had been on the back seat had obviously been touched by the offender.(this was left after being found empty)
2) If I wanted to question my neighbours about the incident then I would have joined the police force.
I was left feeling that it was all my fault for forgetting to bring the briefcase inside and not someone else who has no right to try to take something that is not there's and damage others property. I am now left with a bill of £60 for the window and the possibility of having to take time off of work to get the damage repaired.
It seem to me that all that happens is that a box gets ticked to say what kind of crime was committed and you just become another statistic.
Where will this all end?
