MANSFIELD and Ashfield residents dug deep to help raise thousands of pounds for Children in Need by taking part in a host of fun and wacky events.
Throughout last week, schools, businesses and individuals found time in their busy schedules to raise money for the annual BBC spectacular –– which has so far generated nearly £21m nationally for good causes.

Pudsey fans from across the area staged a variety of madcap fundraisers for the charity extravaganza, including wearing fancy dress or pyjamas, a giant group exercise event and a fundraising football match.

Staff, pupils and governors at Rainworth's Samuel Barlow Primary School held a fun-wearing pyjama day with games and competitions to raise £345.41.

Members of Mansfield's JJB Fitness Club paid £1 each to take part in a three-hour exercise session on Friday.
