MANSFIELD will be seeing stars later this month — or at least the next best thing — as the town centre will be taken over by a host of tribute acts for the Summer Music Sundae spectacular.
The free event will have visitors making more than just the one double-take as stars such as 'Michael Jackson' — alias Navi, pictured right with the star — 'Take That' and 'Girls Aloud' arrive in Mansfield Market Place as part of this year's Summer in the Streets celebrations.

The six-hour music event, from 11am to 5pm on 13th July, will also feature the Mansfield 103.2 Roadshow.

The Summer in the Streets festival is in its sixth year of bringing fun, colour and entertainment to the town centre.

The festival began on Saturday with Maynard the Man in a Box and performances by the Dronfield Brass Band.

This weekend's street entertainment in the town centre will include skiffle band Railroad Bill, appearing at 11am, 12noon and 1pm.

And don't forget Schools in the Streets, which started yesterday with a rendition of Michael Jackson's 'Thriller' and the well known 'Fame' by Newgate Lane Primary pupils.

Schools in the Streets gives local schools the chance to showcase pupils' talents every lunchtime in the Market Place, runs every weekday until Friday 11th July.

A full list of Summer in the Streets events can be found at www.mansfieldtowncentre.co.uk.
