UNIQUE entertainer John Evans brought his one-man show to Mansfield town centre on Saturday — and entertained hundreds of visitors and shoppers
World record holder John balanced a Mini car on his head and also a quad bike, a concrete mixer and tyres in two shows on Saturday lunchtime.

The event was part of National Museums Months and staged by Mansfield District and Mansfield Town Centre Partnership, in conjunction with Mansfield Museum.

  • Gear up for car exhibition at Museum

The museum is staging an exhibition celebrating motoring, 'Are we nearly there yet?', until 31st May, and on Saturday there was an open day with the chance to race a pedal-Scalextric.

At the exhibition, visitors created their own car on the museum's production line and designed an eco-car.

The exhibition includes the Shell Collection of travel paintings from the mid-20th century, which encouraged people to use their cars (full of Shell petrol!) to visit British beauty spots.

There is also a selection of motoring memorabilia; the model car collection of David Powers; driving skills information from BSM and a classic Ford Popular from David Brown Restorations.
