MANSFIELD will have its very own Last Night of the Proms on 12th July . . . thanks to All Saints' School.
Multi-award winning Thoresby Colliery Band has been invited to play as part of a celebration of the school's achievements during the year.

Leading the band will be musical director Stan Lippeatt, and audiences can expect to hear songs old and new, including classics like Jerusalem, Rule Britannia and Pomp and Circumstance.

Students will be performing solo segments throughout the evening, and children from feeder primary schools have also been invited to take part.

Arts college manager Chris Young said: "We have a wealth of talent at All Saints' School, which we've seen shine time and time again throughout the year — the proms is a celebration of this.

"With this concert we want to reach out to our community, invite them into school and show them what we and our wonderful young people are all about.

"It will be a fantastic opportunity to see a fabulous and well established band perform alongside our up and coming stars. We look forward to welcoming music fans into our community."

Tickets are £6 and available from Linda Ayres at All Saints' School on Mansfield 474700, including refreshments. All profits will go to charity.
