THE dynamic Yamato is returning to Nottingham Playhouse with its new show Heartbeat –– a spectacular performance of traditional Japanese ensemble drumming accompanied by phenomenal bass power.
Its performance at Nottingham Playhouse in 2003 was a sell out and now, led by founder and director Masaaki Ogawa, the company is back on Sunday and Monday night.

Yamato Drummers have been touring the world for nine years and more than 2m people have seen their entertaining shows across the globe.

During the show they play their Wadaiko drums that range from the size of a small plate to more than a metre in diameter, including the Odaiko drum, hewn from one huge tree more than four hundred years old.

The sheer physical strength and movement of the drummers is as impressive as the music and can be seen both nights from 7.30pm.

Tickets are available from the box office on 0115 941 9419 or by visiting www.nottinghamplayhouse.co.uk.
