ORGANISERS are gearing up for the annual Robin Hood Festival in the heart of Sherwood Forest.
The summer special is traditionally one of the highlights of the area’s events calendar and attracted a record 75,000 visitors in 2007.

And with a host of top acts and old favourites pencilled in to perform at the Edwinstowe festival, that number looks set to be beaten this year, according to Nic Broomhead, head of Notts County Council’s country parks and conservation service.

“The extensive cast list ensures that, whatever days they decide to come, there’s lots for them to enjoy,” he said. ”It will be packed with a variety of attractions and entertainment.”

Admission is free, with a small charge for some of the events, and parking costs £3 per vehicle, but is free for coaches and minibuses with more than 12 seats as well as disabled badge holders.
