Chorale wow Crossing

WORKSOP'S The Crossing played host to a sell-out concert as Ryton Chorale and English Pro Musica teamed up to put on a winning performance of Last Night at the Proms.
Wonderful, marvellous, brilliant, joyous and moving are just some of the words used to describe the night, which was directed by Anthony Morgan and featured performances by Benjamin Frith and Oliver Metcalf.
After the choir sang four moving English folk songs, Benjamin played Grieg’s Piano Concerto in A minor, which proved a most wonderful experience.
In the second half 16-year-old Nottingham tenor Oliver Metcalf joined forces with Ryton Chorale to sing Queen’s Bohemian Rhapsody.
After a Beach Boys medley sung by Ryton Chorale, the evening was rounded off with a feast of Last Night at the Proms favouries - Fantasia on Sea Songs including Rule Britannia then Jerusaly and the Pomp and Circumstance march, including Land of Hope and Glory - rounding off a magnificent evening.
