The season in the Mansfield Leisure League is about to finish and plans are already underway for the new campaign.
The popular league, run by Leisure Leagues – Europe's largest provider of small sided football - takes place at Oak Tree Leisure Centre on Sunday evening is set to re-launch and Leisure Leagues Senior Manager Chris Rowntree is looking forward to the
new season.

Chris said: "We run leagues all over the UK and we know how much teams are enjoying games at Oak Tree.

"Now we are looking to increase the competition and make the league even better."

All games will be refereed by a United Kingdom Independent Football Federation (UKIFF) official and all equipment is provided, with Chris adding: "All teams need to do in our leagues is turn up and play."

This seasons Premier League is building to an exciting climax and the winners will once again get the chance to represent Mansfield on a national stage.

The winners and runners up in each division will be given the chance to play in Leisure Leagues acclaimed National Tournament held twice-yearly at venues across the Midlands. The last finals day held in June attracted over 100 teams and was won by Stockport side Fiveways, but Chris said: "Competition will be fierce again that's for sure, but a team from Oak Tree might win it, there are some fine sides down there so who knows!"

The match prices are the cheapest in the area, but Leisure Leagues is committed to donating all its profits to national charities and environmentally sustainable projects.

They are the only league operator who gives away its surplus and have recently received praise from HRH Prince Charles and support from a number of top football figures including Premier League Referee Alan Wiley, Irish internationals Jeff Kenna and Stephen Kelly and Birmingham City's former Scotland boss Alex McLeish.

Places are limited, although there is another league at Brunts School on a Monday evening so teams are urged to register online at the new home of small sided football on the World Wide Web at www.leisureleagues.net or call 0845 230 2340 for more information.
