Leisure Leagues, Europe's largest providers of 5 aside and 6 aside football who run leagues in Mansfield, have teamed up with one of Channel Five's most popular shows in an experiment which could see a football turn 'supersonic'.
The Gadget Show, which is seen on our screens every Monday evening, have launched a number of football-related experiments, and the organisation, which run over 250 leagues across the UK and Ireland, have stepped in to provide the balls used in the s
how.
Leisure Leagues Media Manager Adam Matthews explained the company was only too pleased to help out The Gadget Show when the request came in from the production company.
"As you can imagine, with over 250 leagues across the UK and Ireland and around 3000 teams taking part each week, we need plenty of footballs so that our leagues can take place!", he said. "I hope some of the balls will turn supersonic, but this will have to remain a secret until the show goes to air!"
Leisure Leagues use Brazil 1970 footballs, which have technologically advanced gravity bladders for optimum weight distribution and are made from premium leathers. Another important factor for the organisation, who give all of their profits to national charities, is that the balls are not made using any child labour.
"That's correct", Adam confirmed. "Many semi-professionals clubs use these footballs for their advanced technology and we are confident that anyone who plays in any of our leagues already will testify that the balls are of an excellent match quality".
"With the balls being made without the use of child labour, Leisure Leagues are really continuing their tradition of giving something back to the community, however The Gadget Show is certainly a step into the unknown for us!", Adam mused.
The 'supersonic' experiment, using Leisure League's Brazil 1970 footballs, can be seen on Channel Five on Monday 27th April at 8pm.
