Long Bennington and Collingham in Nottingham hardly sounds like a hotbed of musical talent. But hang on to that thought for a minute or, more precisely, the 40 minutes that the duo known as I Was A Cub Scout trod the floorboards of Mansfield music venue the Town Mill on Sunday.

This was the final night of the English leg of a UK tour that stretched from the back end of February and ends in Dublin.

Whilst many groups may have shown signs of a shade over a month on the road, IWACS ripped through their set with all the gusto of it being their first night.

The new single, I Hate Nightclubs, came among a 12-or-so track set aimed at keeping their current fans happy, and enlightening and encouraging an eager army of newcomers to the swelling number of fans the length and breadth of the country.

Much lauded by the musical press — including the NME — IWACS's performance also included the brilliant first single, Pink Squares.

Support group Rolo Tomassi are both friends and fans — and at such a tender age, frighteningly talented. It was clearly obvious that a relationship borne out of plying their trade at every available opportunity will reap dividends in the future.

Openers, Lincoln-based duo TV Tricks did themselves no harm in such distinguished company, but kicked off a night that highlighted two rising stars of the UK music scene.
