The CANDLELIT gig at Meden Vale Village Hall with Gary Armstrong and Danny Booth from The Beetroot Kings and Ed Bannard and Si Ritchie from Jesus Killed Sundays was an absolutely unbelievable night of the very highest quality music.
Gary and Danny kicked the evening off at around 9pm on Sunday with a fantastic set of stunning songs.

Gary Armstrong is one of the most talented singer/songwriters I have the pleasure of knowing as a good friend.

His vocal range and delivery is amazing. A hugely powerful voice which is supported by REAL songwriting with topics ranging from the miners' strike to soldiers' thoughts on the battlefield.

The songs are played with raw passion and commitment and Danny's violin sweeps effortlessly along providing beautiful counter melodies.

The Beetroot Kings are growing rapidly as a band and it's not surprising with these two superb musician's and 'top lads' at the helm.

The crowd showed them wonderful respect and appreciation throughout their performance.

Ed Bannard, who played the first ever Mansfield Town Field Mill Candlelit gig — along with Damon Downs and David Shields — was up next, this time in a brand new venture with his good friend and superb musician, Si Ritchie.

Jesus Killed Sundays is a fantastically entertaining duo who play their songs with a varied array of instrumentation, including acoustic steel string guitar, acoustic nylon stringed guitar, bongos, keyboards, reed organ, melodicas and, best of all, mouthed trombone.

Never afraid of experimentation, the lads were sensational and everyone thoroughly enjoyed them.
