Last weeks selections were dented with a couple of non-runners, however I hope that spread bettors who follow this column were in the profit buying SP's as I suggested.
Racing returns to Nottingham again this Thursday where the feature race on the card is the Class 3 Flint Bishop Handicap at 3.40pm.

A field of 13 have been declared for this contest from some of the top flat yards in the country.

The runner whi
ch immediately caught my eye in this line-up is John Gosden's filly, Expresso Star.

This War Chant three year old is chasing a hat-trick over course and distance after winning last week's feature race over the same trip.

Although she is receiving a six pound weight penalty for that victory, she is clearly on the up and seems a progressive filly.

She is likely to start the favourite of the field and I would recommend backing her to win at 3/1 with Boylesports.

One of the few runners in this race who is taking a drop down in class as opposed to a step up, is Peter Chapple-Hyam's Jaser.

His last few starts have seen him contest Class 2 races over the shorter distance of a mile, and although he is carrying 9 st 6 lbs, I would expect him to finish in the frame assuming he gets the extra two furlongs.

He has won at Nottingham twice previously and I think he is the each-way value of the race, so back him each-way at 12/1 with Boylesports.

It's Champions Day at Newmarket on Saturday and Jim Bolger's New Approach will be bidding for his third Group One win of the campaign in the Champion Stakes.

He will be a short price, so there will undoubtedly be some layers out on Betdaq, but the Epsom Derby winner will be very hard to beat and is just preferred to Henry Cecil's Twice Over.

Aidan O'Brien hasn't won the Dewhurst Stakes since 2001, but his Rip Van Winkle looks like a good thing in this year's renewal.

Finally, the biggest betting race of the day is the Cesarewitch when 30 or more horses slog it out over 2 1/4 miles.

We've already had an interest on Askar Tau at 5/1 and I certainly won't be switching loyalties now.

Marcus Tregoning's stayer is quite simply thrown in at the weights and with just eight stone to carry will take all the beating.
