THE acting head teacher at Coxmoor Primary School has praised a proposal by council chiefs at Nottinghamshire County Council for the amalgamation of the school with Kirkby Nursery Centre.
Sarah Baldwin this week said that it would be 'fantastic' for pupils at both the school and nursery, which are located on the same site at Abbey Road.

She said: "The staff and governors support the proposal and we are looking on it as an exciting opportunity to enhance all the children's experience.

"We also believe very strongly that it will support the transition between the nursery and reception class and lots of other schools have this.

"It will enable us to continue building links with the school as a whole and will allow older pupils to work with the younger ones — we are really looking forward to it."

The approval was made at a county council cabinet meeting late last month and will go before the full council who will make the final decision.
