YOUNG people from Kirkby's Ashfield School join their fellow student and Paralympic gold medallist Sam Hynd as they are presented with certificates and treated to a civic lunch by Nottinghamshire County Council.
They were invited to County Hall in Nottingham after raising £2,500 to buy 17-year-old Sam, who suffers from Muscular Dystrophy, a state-of-the-art wheelchair.

The high-tech wheelchair normally retails at £3,000, but Canock-based manufacturers RGK offered it to the young people at the reduced price of £2,500.

Young people at the school raised more than £1,600 through sponsored events, such as running and rowing, along with a bike ride by some of Sam's post-16 colleagues from Mansfield to Skegness and the rest of the money was donated by local councillors.
