WHEN it comes to tension and high drama, the situation at Mansfield Town Football Club certainly takes some beating.
Whether or not the club can hold on to its precious League status may not be known now until virtually the last kick of the last game of what has already been a quite extraordinary season.

Meanwhile the saga surrounding the ownership of the club also remains unresolved, with more twists and turns so far than an Agatha Christie plot, with the additional ingredient of 'Carry On' farce.

All that must wait for another day.

Right now only one thing matters - avoiding the dreaded drop into the Conference.

It's turning into a Herculean challenge.

It should not be forgotten that the behind-the-scenes activity that has turned off so many fans in recent times has nothing to do with the playing staff.

They need - and, in our opinion, deserve - as much support as possible this Saturday against Rotherham United for what could turn out to be the most crucial game ever played at Field Mill.

It could make all the difference.
