NESTLED away within Mansfield's Westgate Department Store, Cafe Nova is the perfect venue for shoppers to relax and unwind after a morning of retail therapy.
The small cafe situated just within the entrance of the Queen Street store is light, airy and clean with simple furniture and decor offering a calming atmosphere for a light lunch or coffee and cake.

Arriving just before the lunchtime rush we sat down in comfy armchairs by the window to people watch as we carefully studied the menu, which offered a tasty selection of gourmet sandwiches, bruschettas, flat breads and soups.

For starter we shared a field mushroom, tomato and brie bruschetta (priced £4.25) which arrived promptly and was delicious – but could have been served slightly hotter.

Soon after our main courses arrived well presented on simple white rectangle plates with a garnish of cherry tomatoes drizzled in balsamic vinegar.

I opted for the chicken, rocket and mayo pesto flatbread, while my dining companion picked the avocado, goats' cheese and tomato flatbread (both priced £3.95).

Both dishes were served on soft warm bread and were incredibly tasty – just the right amount to satisfy a lunch time craving and not bloat you for the rest of the afternoon.

And although the cafe offered a mouth-watering selection of desserts, including cookies, cakes, muffins and scones we decided not to sin and settled for a refreshing fruit juice to finish of our satisfying meal.

Cafe Nova offers a high selection of sweet treats and sandwiches with a continental twist all for a reasonable price and within a relaxed environment.

The staff were both efficient and friendly, thanking us for our custom as we left more than happy with our dining experience.
