Sutton sub-postmaster goes on trial accused of stealing £208,000

A SUTTON sub-postmaster has gone on trial accused of stealing more than £200,000.
Harjinder Singh Butoy (32) denies 11 counts of theft from Post Office Ltd between August 2006 and April 2007.

It is alleged he stole a total of £208,000 while at the Forest Side sub-post office on Mansfield Road in the town.

A jury was sworn in at Nottingham Crown Court on Monday and the prosecution will open its case on Tuesday.

The trial is expected to last around three days.
