A MANSFIELD Woodhouse man has been banned from the road for three years for driving while over the drink-drive limit.
Twenty-three-year-old Kelvin Pennant, of Newcastle Street, failed a roadside breath test when he was pulled over by police on Leeming Street, Mansfield, on 11th July.

In mitigation, James Wiley told Mansfield magistrates on Friday that Pennant had gone out with some friends for a few drinks and had intended to leave his car in town –– but then decided to drive the short distance home, which was when he was stopped by police.

Mr Wiley said there were no aggravating factors to the offence and it was a silly mistake that would cost Pennant.

Magistrates also ordered Pennant to pay £150 fine, £60 costs and a £15 victim surcharge.
