AN Edwinstowe woman has been slapped with a 12-month community order after stabbing her partner during a row.
Laura Craig (21), of Newbry Close, got involved in an argument with her partner after the pair had been out drinking on 26th June.

Mansfield magistrates were told on Thursday that the pair had a long history of violence towards each other and on the evening of the stabbing Craig's partner had decided to go for a walk to 'cool off.'

When he returned, they began to argue again and she took the glasses from his face and broke them –– before the rowing couple went into the kitchen, where Craig pulled out a knife.

She then thrust it towards him and stabbed him in the arm, resulting in him suffering a 'fairly deep wound' around one-centimetre wide.

In mitigation, Paul Carlin said: "There has been a long history of violence in the relationship. My client has no record but her partner has been convicted before."

Magistrates gave Craig, who admitted the offence, the community order and decided not to ask for any compensation or court costs because of her financial situation.
