A 55-YEAR-OLD Kirkby man who was caught with amphetamines and cannabis while subject to a suspended prison sentence has been spared jail.
Nottingham Crown Court was told on Friday that Alan Peters, of Bannerman Road, was in ill-health and the drugs were for his own use.

He had admitted possession of the drugs at an earlier hearing, when the prosecution accepted his not guilty plea to the more serious charge of having the amphetamines with intent to supply.

If he had been convicted of that offence he would have been given 18 months in prison plus the suspended sentence.

But Peters was warned he was being given a chance to sort his life out and seek medication from a doctor.

His sentence was a 12-month community order with supervision.

A SUTTON woman who admitted removing and passing on documents while working for the Crown Prosecution Service (CPS) is facing a likely prison sentence.

Suzanna Palmer (23), of Alfreton Road, admitted three counts of misconduct between August 2005 and 2nd February this year at Nottingham Crown Court last Wednesday.

She accessed computer records which she knew she was not entitled to do, removed documents from the CPS premises and gave documents to a man while working for the CPS.

Judge Dudley Bennett bailed her until sentencing on 24th September in Leicester, but warned her the offences were serious.

AN unemployed thug who assaulted his girlfriend during a late night row has been handed a 12-month community order by Mansfield magistrates.

Twenty-nine-year-old Christopher Baguley flew into a rage after his partner let down the tyres of his bike to stop him leaving his Sherwood Drive flat on 1st June.

After the couple began arguing Baguley spat in his girlfriend's face and grabbed her shoulder before she fled to the street to call police, the court was told.

Baguley, who admitted common assault on Thursday, must also undertake a 12-month supervision requirement with a 60-hour unpaid work requirement.

A MANSFIELD man has admitted stealing a motorcycle and riding it dangerously.

Twenty-year-old Aaron Turner, of Redruth Drive, stole the Yamaha on 17th April and rode it dangerously on various roads in Mansfield the following day.

He also admitted having no licence or insurance at Nottingham Crown Court on Thursday and Judge Andrew Hamilton remanded him in custody until sentencing on 29th September.
