A WARRANT has been issued for the arrest of Kirkby man Aaron Dickinson after he failed to appear at Mansfield Magistrates' Court on Thursday to face animal cruelty charges.
The 37-year-old, of Marlborough Road, is charged with three counts of cruelty, including failing to provide a suitable environment for a doberman-cross breed dog, failing to provide a suitable diet and failing to prevent pain, suffering, injury and disease to the same dog between 12th and 15th February.
- MANSFIELD Woodhouse man Adrian Aston will appear at Nottingham Crown Court in September accused of using forged £20 notes.
Aston (40), of Lawrence Avenue, appeared before Mansfield magistrates on Thursday charged with using £240 of fake notes on 10th April and being in possession of £1,780 of forged notes.
He was released on unconditional bail until the Nottingham hearing on 18th September.
- MANSFIELD'S Johnathon Bickerton has been fined £100 after an early morning fist fight on Newgate Lane in the town.
Bickerton (33), of Carter Lane, had been in the town centre on 23rd July when he became involved in an argument with a man who had insulted his sister.
At around 8.40am, Bickerton bumped into the man again on Newgate Lane,
where they traded punches before police were called and they were charged with threatening behaviour.
Both men were taken to hospital and Bickerton, who admitted the charge, sustained a serious injury to his left eye, which doctors say he may not fully recover from.
In mitigation, his solicitor James Wiley told magistrates the extent of Bickerton's injury meant he had already been punished and asked them to take this into consideration.
Bickerton was also ordered to pay £60 costs and a £15 victim surcharge.
- KIRKBY'S Benjamin Ross, who denies stealing a toothbrush from Sainsbury's, was given conditional bail by Mansfield magistrates on Friday.
Ross (22), formerly of Edward Street, was bailed to an address on Commercial Gate, Mansfield, and will return to Mansfield Magistrates' Court for trial on 8th September.
