MR N. FOSTER : Obituary
Life-long local Warsop resident Mr Norman Foster (79), of Birkland Avenue, was buried in the town’s cemetery after a service at Warsop Parish Church. Born at Warsop, Mr Foster was educated locally at Hetts Lane Infant, Sherwood Junior and Burns Lane Secondary schools and West Nottinghamshire College, Mansfield. He had worked as an electrician at Welbeck Colliery for 35 years before retiring in 1987. He enjoyed playing golf and cricket and had played for the Welbeck Colliery Village team and then in later life he enjoyed a game of bowls. Mr Foster, who died at his home leaves his wife, Mrs Faith Kathleen Mary Foster, son Andrew, daughter Janet, four grandchildren, Bethany, David, Jonathan and Amelia and two great-grandchildren, Eleanor and Harrison. Mourners were Mrs F. Foster, Mr and Mrs D. Parker, Mr and Mrs A. Foster, Miss A. Foster, Mr D. Marks, Mr J. Marks, Mr and Mrs L. Rogers, Mr M. Rogers, Ms B. Yorke, Mr D. Yorke, Mrs J. Stacey, Mr L. Stacey, Mr J. Foster, Mr and Mrs D. Howd, Mr W. Foster, Mr and Mrs B. Mitchell, Mr and Mrs B. Wilkinson, Mr R. Jones; Mr I. Hickinbotham (representing Mr D. Pashley), Mr M. Nichols, Mr and Mrs B. Fearn, Mrs V. Rose; Mr J. Sentance (representing Mr Joe Sentance); Mrs A. Sentance (representing Mrs A. Raynor); Mr and Mrs P. Clark (representing Miss P. Clark); Mr and Mrs W. Shutt (representing Master J. Shutt, Miss E. Shutt and Mrs S. Townroe), Mr B. Graham. Floral tributes were from the immediate family. Donations received from family and friends are for the Parkinsons Society. The service was conducted by the Rev A. Fletcher, and arrangements were by G. A. Townroe & Son.
