AS part World Mental Health Day on Friday Chad's adopted charity 2008 – Central Notts MIND – will be encouraging people to unwind their mind in Mansfield Market Place.
The special event will be taking place tomorrow and will help individuals to take care of their mental health, offer ideas and inspiration as well as provide expert advice about mental health conditions.
The free event 'Unwind Your Mind', which w
ill be held between 10.30am-3pm, includes information stands, live performances, tribute acts plus fun and games.
As one-in-four adults and one-in-10 children will experience a mental health issue such as depression, stress or anxiety at some point, Central Notts MIND feels it is very important for people to know how to unwind their minds and get help if it is needed.
Simple measures including a good diet, exercise and relaxation can provide effective results in improving mental health.
Girish Ravat, general manager at Central Notts MIND, says anyone is welcome to drop into the event to find out more about taking care of their mental health.
"There will be plenty of activities going on and people on hand to give information and offer advice," said Girish.
"It is important that people take some time out to unwind from their hectic daily routines as having good mental health enables us to function better in life."
Anyone interested in becoming a Central Notts MIND volunteer or trustee or who would like to organise a charity event or make a donation to Central Notts MIND should contact Girish Ravat on Mansfield 658044.
