The charity is always on the look out for new volunteers and fully appreciates its current volunteers who give up their spare time to help others.
Some volunteers give up a few hours a week to visit the charity's activity centres where they chat with clients and listen to their worries while others are more involved with fund-raising for the charity and organising outings for members.
Central Notts MIND volunteer Jan has been helping out at the charity for the past six years after she decided it would be a rewarding way to spend her free time.
'Interested'"When I first started volunteering it was a case of sitting and chatting with people and as time has gone on I have got more involved with things like fundraising and organising activities," said Jan.
"I like working with different people bec-ause I am a people person. The sessions are always different and not monotonous so it keeps you interested and motivated.
"When people come in and share their worries with me and I am able to support them it makes it very worthwhile for me and gives great satisfaction.
"It may be a small concern for me but for them it can be a very big issue."
"Anyone can help and become a much valued part of the organisation.
"No special skills are required and people can choose to do as much as they want and progress at their own pace."
