BOSSES at Chad charity Central Notts MIND have spent the past seven months working hard to modernise their Mansfield Activity Centre.
They have been using donations to install new windows and give some rooms a lick of paint –– but the charity is now issuing a fresh appeal for folk to dig deep to help them complete the project by next year.

Says general manager Girish Ravat: "The revamp and decorating at Mansfield Activity Centre and also next door at the office base are well underway.

"The project, in partnership with the Nottinghamshire County Council's probation unit, has been taking place since the New Year –– a lot of work has been carried out but a lot more still needs to be done.

"To help us complete the necessary works and bring both buildings up to modern requirements we still need funds. With donations, this project can be finished and the service users can enjoy the comfort of the centre."

As well as needing cash to finish the work, Girish says the charity is also looking for volunteers to help transform its Mansfield Activity Centre garden into a place where service users can relax and enjoy the outdoors.

He said: "We are looking for a team of people to help complete the garden project. This is to develop an existing overgrown piece of the garden so we are looking for green-fingered volunteers to support this worthwhile project.

"I would like to thank all of the people and organisations that have already kindly made donations to Central Notts MIND allowing us to get the modernisation work underway."

Anybody interested in becoming a Central Notts MIND volunteer or trustee or who would like to organise a charity event or make a donation to Central Notts MIND, should contact Girish Ravat on Mansfield 658044.
