NOT only is Central Notts MIND busy transforming lives but it has now got to work transforming its Mansfield office and activity centre to give them a new inviting look.
From looking at these pictures it is clear to see that the work is already well underway with broken fence panels and rotting windows being replaced, making the centre look instantly more welcoming to clients and visitors.

Other work ongoing at the Mansfield St John Street office include replacing old doors and brightening the place up with a fresh lick of paint.

However, there is still more work on the agenda including tidying up the gardens in time for the summer and revamping the charity's activity centre.

Central Notts MIND general manger, Girish Ravat, says donations have been a great help so far to enable the work to go ahead but there is still much more to be done.

"The work at the offices should be completed within the next two weeks but then we will begin work on the activity centre," says Girish.

"We will be re-decorating and also making alterations to the rooms to give the clients more learning space and private areas for different activities such as arts and crafts.

"The clients are enjoying getting involved in the plans and are really looking forward to seeing to finished product.

"We are also hoping to get new ramps and hand rails fitted to make our centre's more accessible but this will cost around £6,000 so we are still looking for more donations to help us.

"We are currently working in partnership with Mansfield community service so we do not have to pay for labour which means all cash we receive can be used to buy materials.

"Bringing our centres up to modernisation is our main aim for the year and although there is still some way to go we are really happy with the progress made so far."

•Anybody interested in becoming a Central Notts MIND volunteer or trustee or who would like to organise a charity event or make a donation to Central Notts MIND should contact Girish Ravat on Mansfield 658044.
