BOSSES at Mansfield's Lambs at the Market restaurant are celebrating this week after scooping a top honour at the prestigious Nottingham Restaurant Awards.
The Nottingham Road venue was presented with the gong for Best Local Produce Menu during a ceremony at Colwick Hall last Wednesday.

The family-run business missed out on the award at last year's event, but beat fierce competition to take the award this year.

Brenda Dubowski, who owns the restaurant with husband Ted, said it was a great honour to be recognised for the quality of produce used at the restaurant.

"We're absolutely delighted," she said. "We've been looking forward to it all year since getting runner up last year.

"We opened in November 2007 and in that time we've been awarded an AA Rosette, come runner-up and now won the award for best local produce."

Head chef and joint owner Troy Lamb, Brenda's son-in-law, uses as many local ingredients and suppliers as possible and changes the menu daily depending on availability of ingredients.

Brenda said: "Really, it's our signature selling point and it means the freshness of food can be guaranteed and we're also supporting local businesses."

Well done. I've always found it to be a quality place with a decent menu, quality ingredients and reasonally priced.
