NEW plans for a secure residential centre able to treat 70 people with learning disabilities in Mansfield have been approved.
Montpelier Estates was first given permission to build the development at Sherwood Oaks Business Park in 2006.

The company has now made changes to the design after reaching agreement with St Andrew's Healthcare, which will run the facility.

mansfield district councillors unanimously gave the green light to the proposals at a meeting on Monday – but said there needed to be more landscaping provided.

The development will include three buildings, with two of them treating residential patients with learning disabilities or mental health needs in low and medium secure accommodation, and is expected to generate 170 jobs.
