Mansfield 2020 member and PR agency Parker PR won a silver award in the Yorkshire and Lincolnshire Chartered Institute of Public Relations PRide awards Business and Trade category that recognised PR campaigns supporting the marketing of business-to-business products or services.
The agency and its client, Business & Education South Yorkshire, won the Silver Awards for their work on a series of events promoting apprenticeships to South Yorkshire businesses on behalf of the Learning and Skills Council South Yorkshire.
"To be short-listed for an award was brilliant, but to be recognised in this way and receive a Silver Award is fantastic. We knew we put together and ran a good campaign when we exceeded all our targets set by the LSC. When we consider the size of some of the agencies we were up against this achievement really shows that our partnership approach to working with clients delivers and achieves real results," said Graham Parker of Parker PR.
The agency was shortlisted for two awards, the other being in the Not for Profit category that recognised campaigns in the charitable and non-commercial sectors that had successfully communicated its message and met objectives.
Last year the agency was shortlisted for two awards and this year's Silver will join a gold and silver Award it won in 2006.
Parker PR and B&E-SY worked on a campaign called Apprentices for South Yorkshire. The campaign involved the managing of seven business promotion events and consultation with more than 1,000 South Yorkshire businesses to encourage them to take on apprentices or work based training for employees.
Nearly 400 people attended the events with nearly 250 of them asking or expressing an interest in apprentices or work-based training.
