A NEW initiative to give young people a second chance to learn is being hailed a success by employers and training providers across the area.
The Entry 2 Employment (E2E) programme gives 16 to 18-year-olds, who are not participating in any form of learning, the chance to access training, which could lead to a Modern Apprenticeship, further learning or employment.

Mansfield youth Karl Price (17), pictured, is one of the scheme's success stories after finding employment at specialist transportation vehicle manufacturer Shawtrack –– just four months after enrolling.

He told Chad: "When I heard about the engineering qualifications I could gain as part of the E2E programme, it was like someone had thrown me a lifeline.

"Engineering is definitely for me and the support I have received from NLT Training Services has led me to where I am today.

"I really enjoy working at Shawtrack and I can't wait to start my NVQ Level 3 qualification."

For more information on E2E contact NLT Training Services on 0845 4080378 or visit www.nlt-training.co.uk.
