A REGENERATION organisation transforming rundown housing across the Mansfield and Bolsover districts has been given funding to continue its work.
Meden Valley Making Places (MVMP), which is based in Warsop, has been awarded £900,000 further funding from English Partnerships to carry on its work until at least 2011.
Chief executive Gary Kirk told Chad: "We are absolutely ecstatic with the news from English Partnerships which endorses the commitment and determination of the whole team to revitalise these former mining communities.
"The decision to extend funding will enable us to reach further milestones and ensure the delivery of an exciting and innovative regeneration programme which is meeting the needs of local residents.
"We will continue the delivery of our core activities, as well as exploring new business opportunities in our current areas of operation in Bolsover and Mansfield, and with other surrounding local authorities."
The organisation is working to regenerate eight areas currently, including Warsop Vale, Mansfield Woodhouse and Mansfield's Brownlow Road area and its current funding would have run out next March.
